Vandana - They sent the list of individual donors who contributed more than INR42,000. The remaining INR16 lakhs is from donors who donated less than INR42,000.
    • Source of funding for the additional corpus donations of 22 lakhs.
Vandana - Waiting for the answer from the acountant.
    • How much of the funds is routed by JET and VT Seva.
Vandana - they take money only when needed and if any donor specifically gives them then they get that money. Example someone gave them 14laks for 33 girls education for one year.
    • Please confirm corpus funds is in fact general reserves, as it is being dipped into for excess of expenditure over income.
Vandana - Yes it is general reserves and is being dipped for excess expenditure over income.
    • On Teachers salary similarly, it was adding up to 18 lakhs. Audit report says total staff salary is 24 lakhs. Wondering if remaining 6 lakhs were used for non-teaching staff. Waiting on answer from them.
Vandana - The remaining is for non teaching staff. Also this year for all the Vizag teachers they give INR800 for transportation since all the Vizianagaram teachers get bus service
    • The school is up to 10th grade. How many children go from school to Nethra Junior college in Hyderabad?
Vandana - Last year 3 students went to Nethra Junior college and the year before 8 went to the college.  The reason for the low number is because parents do not want to send their kids so far away from their villages (Ex; From Srikakulum to Hyderabad is very far) so they join in the normal colleges close to their villages. But most of them join some college or the other. But some of the kids whose parents are not well educated, do not send their kids to the college and instead start some work or business since a minimum 10th grade pass is needed for setting business since govt gives them loans.
    • Would like to see grades for children, board results so that we can track over time.
Vandana - Uploaded the 10th grade results in the folder Nethra Vidyalaya Oct_Nov2018
    • For visually impaired students, does the school doing anything to improve their vision : surgeries, medical support?
Vandana - Last year  two Medical camps were organized by Shankar Foundation and L.V Prasad Eye institute. They have checked all the students and suggested surgery for one girl, gave spectacles for 5 students and magnifying glasses for 12 students. Now the girl can see
    • Do they take children for outside trips to expose them to real world dealings ?
Vandana - Every year we will take picnic in November and will take our students for all sports meets which were organized at different places.
    • How often do they visit family ?
Vandana - Every vacation (summer, DUssehra and pongal) and once in two months they go to their villages since govt gives them pension of INR1500 (disability pension which govt gives based on their disability anywhere from 500-1500 given they have right certificates). minimum 220 working days they have to be there in the school.
