Thanks for visiting my page. I am an Asha volunteer for almost 4 yrs. In the wonderful visible, scalable, 100% vol-driven,zero overhead infrastructure of Asha with no hierarchy,I feel very motivated to do my bit for the unfortunate kids in India. I believe this is my social obligation and after I see the priceless smiles (while doing site visits in India), I feel this little bit of volunteering time is the best time spent in my daily schedules.

In last 4 yrs,Team Asha Atlanta has raised 70K that is more than 50% of total funds raised by our chapter. This money provided yearly educational support to at least 1000 students other than helping 85 runners to reach the finishing line. I never thought of running 13 miles at a stretch. Our coach and the dedications of volunteers/runners made it happen last yr. I do not have to look for reasons to wake up at 7 am every Saturday. It is a fun group united for a great cause. Even when I can not join the run, I will try to help with water-stops:)

In 2010, we aim to support more grass-root projects in different states and the economic downturn affected our 2009 fundraising efforts as well. Time to time, I have been involved with all our projects. So,I want to join the efforts to continue with our existing and new projects. .

I am running 13.1 miles(rather ~70000 ft) with other Team Asha runners on March 21, 2010. Please support the cause and help me reach the goal. If you are interested in donating money specific to a project, go through our active projectsand let me know.

Past history: Started running with Team Asha from June 2008 (after being the water-stop volunteer for 2 yrs and see others running)...never thought I could run two half marathons in last 2 yrs...Want to improve timing (from snail's pace to human pace) and train/run with the highly motivated (& crazy) group run log
